It's an experience
- Escape the busy city life and relax -
We all know that living in the big city can be a bit much sometimes. It's good to escape the chaos every now and then and spend some time on yourself.
"Women go to a nail salon or a spa, men go to House of Barbaard. The "Men-spa" of Vietnam."
- Someone very wise -
When you come to our place there is no rush. A hot towel shave or beard trim takes 45 mins and for a haircut we spend 60 mins. A hair-wash is done two times, so you will not leave with those pesky hairs that tent to keep on appearing after a cut.
You'll always get a drink and some light snacks. Want to treat yourself even more than the normal Heineken or house whiskey? No problem, for a small upgrade you can choose from a big selection of spirits, cocktails and cigars.

Our Barbers
The true artists of House of Barbaard
Our barbers are proud to be part of House of Barbaard and this is something that you might possibly directly sense when stepping into our barber shop. A professional yet fun and personal atmosphere will be welcoming you. What our barbers have in common is that we all share the same passion for barbering and Gentleman’s lifestyle but also proud ourselves for our easy-going attitudes. Hence our slogan, for Gentleman with Attitude.
All our barbers have been taught by Dutch master barbers and completed our own training program of 6 months. House of Barbaard is proud to offer Vietnam’s only barber education.
Mr. Hung
Mr. Style
Every barber at House of Barbaard has a unique style. Hung has always desired to be different, whether it’s fashion, lifestyle or grooming he knows about it.
There was a time he fell in love with painting and learned how to draw by gradually picking up some basic skills and techniques about how to hold and control a brush. The same happened with his interest in barber arts, it gradually developed from interest, to passion, and ultimately in to his way of life.
Hung started with essential steps until he reached the higher levels after finishing his six months of training at House of Barbaard. The motto Hung has been living by for years: “Whatever you do, put all of your effort and spirit into it”.
Mr. Qui
The Artist
Rewind to 4 years back, you could have already seen Qui doing some magic with his hands, however not with the scissors but a… DJ mixer. At the time, our Artist was still hopping between bars following his DJ-ing career. After going back to his hometown in Tien Giang, he worked in a hair salon as a hair stylist assistant. But Qui didn’t find his passion for working with women’s hair.
One day he came across a House of Barbaard video, following his instinct, Qui made his friends the ‘guinea pigs’ for him to practice the same haircut on. Also hair styling, but these classic men hairstyles somehow excites him so much more.
To Qui, being able to hold the scissors in his hands every day is what makes him happy. You will see him walking inside the barbershop always with a smile on his face.
“Music gives wings to the mind while a nice haircut gives you confidence, and these things will help you go further in life”.
Mr. Tai
The Judge
We call Tai the Judge due to his strong personality. With Tai, the most important thing in life is knowing what’s right or wrong, and making the right choices. He used to work as a quality controller for an importing company.
Hair and beard styling was only a hobby to Tai in the past. But since he heard about House of Barbaard, he started thinking about turning this hobby into a real passion, also a job that he can live off, because why not?
What motivates Tai the most when being a barber, is the chance to make the customer satisfied with their look. A nice haircut can make a huge difference and can even help to make one more confident. This is also what makes Tai believe that he had made the RIGHT choice.
Mr. Hiep
Nemo
Nemo is a character in a movie called Mr. Nobody (2009), a person who always had to makes a lot of difficult decisions in each critical junctions of his life, because “as long as you don’t choose, everything remains possible”. And Mr. Hiep strongly felt related to him. In a way, Nemo’s life is somewhat similar to what this gentleman has been through.
Bold – perhaps this might be the best word when talking about Hiep. Having calm adolescence throughout the years in senior high school until when he started his journey of 5 years studying abroad in Russia. The plan was to become a petroleum engineer, a desirable occupation and the golden dream of many people. But that was never enough for Hiep, as a free spirit, his mind always seeks to learn and explore new things. And that creates an incentive for Hiep to engage in many different freelance job likes photography, filmmaking, design… When was in Russia, Hiep had a barber corner in his flat to do haircut for his friends in University. Turning the most unruly hairs into an art, barbering has slowly become an undeniable passion for this gentleman.
With his boldness, he made a decision to stop studying for the master degree in Russia and pursuing barbering instead. And since the first time been back to Vietnam, Hiep felt that he wanted to became a part of the Barbaard family. The name Nemo can also be familiar with the animation Finding Nemo. Nemo because of living with his overprotective father, decided to take the risk by going out of his comfort zone to explore the large ocean. Never regret about his decisions, welcome to the Barbaard family, Nemo!
Mr. Tuan
Mr. Parker
If you are one the guests that have been with House of Barbaard Hanoi since the beginning, you might think that there is something familiar about this guy, as Tuan used to be the one who takes care of your bikes during your visit.
Before joining
Working as the parking guy for roughly a year, Tuan had observed the difference in the appearance of the visiting gentlemen before and after leaving House of Barbaard. What impressed him the most was how satisfied the guests were and how only a haircut could bring some joy, hence his dream of becoming a barber began.
Soon his wish came true, Tuan confidently applied for a trainee position when he heard House of Barbaard was looking for new barbers. And so we had another interview with Tuan, a long conversation that led to a new big step in his career. Finally, with his great passion and determination, plus 6 months of extensive training, Tuan is now one of House of
Mr. Quan Anh
The Magician
“Don’t expect your barber to be a magician” – that’s something you always hear. But there seems to be an exception with Mr. Quan Anh.
“Magic and cutting hair are both arts,” he said. “You amaze the audience with your hands, as a magician would do. I invent my own cuts, according to a gentleman’s bone structure, and I invent my own scissors moves.” And the results? All you can say is “Wow, how wonderful they are!”
Abracadabra! Gentlemen, we present you Mr. Quan Anh – The Magician of House of Barbaard!
Mr. Cong
Mr. Kiss
A barber with a student look.
Mr Kiss, came in contact with men’s grooming on an early age. His childhood was filled with sounds of scissors and conversations between his dad and customers. Growing up along the cutting tools and instructions given by his dad strengthened his passion for being a barber day by day.
He then was trusted to cut his father’s regular customers, and his friends, sometimes even walk in customers. However, he realized something was still missing and he was determined to keep improving his skills. One day, the door at House of Barbaard opened and Cong eventually found out that the world – class barbering culture is exactly what he is searching for.
If you have to choose two words to describe this guy; “enthusiastic” and “eager” would be the best.
Mr. Vu
Mr. Fix
The comedian – that’s another nickname this guy goes by.
His sense of humor is always an integral part in every party at House of Barbaard. Having worked and studied in Germany for quite some time gave Vu the chance to know more about Europe as well as immerse himself into its lifestyle and culture. He found his passion for the barber arts in the city of Hannover. The noisy classic atmosphere, the sound of scissors clicking inside the nearby barbershops attracted him every day on the way from and to his university.
Vu had an incredible backbone and managed to turn his passion into his profession by learning the basic skills bit by bit, all by himself. His dream eventually came true as he made his return to Vietnam to join House of Barbaard and keep developing his “Zero to Hero” story.
Vu’s humor and charm will be the first things you notice when sitting down in his chair. His endless stories about fashion and lifestyle will make your experience at House of Barbaard unforgettable.
Mr. Loc
Casanova
A tip to all the ladies out there: Stay away from this guy! Loc, the guy with the appearance of a stern and a well-versed man, the true definition of “Casanova”.
Born in a small village in the Khanh Hoa province, Loc has been through many jobs both for experience and simply to make a living. The variety of jobs he’s had is impressive, however, he didn’t find his true passion until he picked up a pair of scissors. He started out with just a scissors and an old comb, later he salted away for a 200.000vnd clipper and his dream just became bigger day by day.
His job and his family mean the most to him, being part of the Barbaard team brings him happiness and exhilaration to improve himself and develop his career.
Mr. Linh
Mr. Grey
There’s something that you should know, in Vietnam, barbering is not a job that most parents support. Linh’s family were quite worried when he told them he was going to pursue his dream to become a barber. However, when they came to take a look at House of Barbaard and saw how the whole team worked together and took care of one another…they completely changed their minds.
Linh, born with a taste of art, which is an absolute advantage when it comes down to being a barber. His creativeness resonates through everything he does, whether it’s making a latte (including foam art) or wrapping a gift, Linh’s the kind of guy that puts heart into every single thing he does.
And why “Mr. Grey”? That’s just how we get impressed with the guy who is full of energy during the first interview, and he was all in grey. That’s it.
Mr. Phong
The Sailor
Take a look at his appearance and you will understand why we nick-named him “The Sailor”. Also, his character perfectly matches the name: open-minded, generous and always the optimist just like a sailor.
Phong accidentally watched a short video made by Schorem, then quickly became interested in the barbering and finally developed a deep passion for it. He takes advantage of any chance he gets to practice, even… his friends their hair! His biggest dream? Join the best barber team in Vietnam.
It has been a tough time for our sailor to overcome the objection from his family, but in the end, his passion and determination have convinced them all. The Sailor has made the right turn: Being a barber at House of Barbaard.
Mr. Tuan
The Saint
The story about love for scissors keeps on going. Tuan is probably the luckiest guy amongst the entire team; he ran his own mini-shop since high school to foster his desire.
As balanced as he is, he perfectly fits into the Barbaard family. Not only because he has a creative mind and eye for hairstyles, he also puts a lot of time in roaming and traveling, for one purpose only; holding the scissors. Occasionally Tuan spends his spare time cutting hair for orphans.
This guy is one of the most interesting pieces in the picture of the whole Barbaard family. Pure and saintly, Tuan – “The Saint” is ready to write his amazing story at our barbershop.
Mr. Khuyen
The Guardian
All gentlemen at House of Barbaard always pay a great deal of attention to their outer look, and Khuyen is no exception. To Khuyen, a day wouldn’t be completed without having perfect hair. But stopping at perfecting his own hair would be too ‘ordinary’ and boring, Khuyen told to himself.
This is why the young guy decided to go down the road of training himself to become a barber, first by watching videos, doing some self-learning, and practicing nonstop. In everything he does, Khuyen always try to break the norms. Simply because he realises that it is very hard to make someone satisfied, if all you do is just to repeat the same thing over and over again following some kind of ‘formula’, without adding some creativity and value to it.
Unlike his cheerful and happy personality, Khuyen’s posture always seems too stiff and ‘serious’, something that we would sometimes joke about. And that’s why we came up with a wonderful nickname for him – The Guardian. So there we have it, the little warden of House of Barbaard, who is also the youngest member of the family up until this point.
Mr. Khanh
The Godfather
If you would have met Khanh before he joined House of Barbaard, you’d be surprised how much he has changed his style since.
From a guy who always follows trends and fads, Khanh has completely changed his style into something close to a “mafia” with his hair slicked back and dressing in classic gentleman’s style.
House of Barbaard has given Khanh a period to prove that barbering is his true passion. Book an appointment with The Godfather of House of Barbaard, he will surely “make an offer you can’t refuse”.
Mr. Bao
Romeo
Introducing the most romantic guy of House of Barbaard. He can spend hours with his guitar to bring joy to people, but the audience will most likely be the ladies.
Using the same skilful fingers, Bao will make your hair perfect with his pair of scissors. With Bao, the feeling of holding the scissors in his hands is just as inspiring as when he’s holding the guitar.
If Shakespeare’s Romeo comes to Juliet’s to sing every night, then now we have House of Barbaard’s Romeo who also creates another type of art everyday using his scissors. Bao is now living the best days of his life because his greatest dream has come true: became a Gentleman at House of Barbaard.
Mr. Tai
The Zookeeper
You can most likely feel the down to earth and kind vibe from Tai if you would ever meet him, because he was really raised in a farm. Tai grew up close to nature in a small village in Dong Thap, that’s probably why he has an endless love for all kinds of animal.
Used to follow Automotive Engineering studies, but Tai shared that the time he spent to learn and watch different videos about barbering is even more than the time that he actually spent on studying. While most of his friends are into the trendy Korean styles, Tai grows his beard and goes for the classic hairstyles.
House of Barbaard is the catalyst that motivates him to follow his passion for hair, and became a real barber. Introducing The Zookeeper, the caretaker of House of Barbaard zoo.
Mr. Tung
The Surgeon
The nickname The Surgeon came from Tung’s ability to correctly guess what people wants and needs, even when you guys are just met. As if he is performing some kind of special ‘surgery’ on you to find that out. Before joining to House of Barbaard, Tung used to be an assistant in a dentures clinic. A job that is completely differently from grooming or Gentleman style, the only common is that both jobs require special skills in using the hands.
After 3 years of working there, Tung no longer has motivation in the creation of dentures. At his most frustrated moments, he accidentally heard of House of Barbaard, and Tung was immediately fascinated by the classic Gentleman vibe here.
To Tung, House of Barbaard is like a second home, and a place where he can freely pursue the gentleman style and his passion for grooming and hairstyling, not only for himself but nowadays also for other people. The Surgeon is ready to serve you at House of Barbaard.
